We are looking for a CAD Draughtsman (Scenic Construction) for a leading creative production and fabrication company in Erith specialising in scenic construction, live events, exhibitions and themed environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initial concept through to completion.
- Produce detailed construction, bench and CNC drawings using AutoCAD and other 2D/3D software.
- Develop practical build methods, materials and construction techniques.
- Work closely with workshop teams to support fabrication and resolve technical queries.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are met.
- Research innovative materials and methods to improve production processes.
- Support and mentor junior team members.
- Liaise with clients and attend occasional site surveys and meetings.
Skills and Requirements
- Experience in technical design within scenic construction, set building or a similar fabrication environment.
- Strong 2D and 3D AutoCAD skills.
- Excellent knowledge of carpentry, metalwork and construction methods.
- Understanding of materials and workshop fabrication processes.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive team player who can adapt to changing project requirements.
