At Cavendish Nuclear we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Senior Environmental Consultant at our Warrington, Cheshire site.
The role involves delivering technical activities relating to nuclear waste management and strategy through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience. This is a unique opportunity to influence projects that are critical to energy security and national protection, while advancing your career in a dynamic and growing consultancy environment.
Day‑to‑day, you will:
- Provide technical direction and resolve complex nuclear waste issues.
- Compile technical reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor colleagues to develop capability within the team.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and customers.
- Drive business awareness and contribute to consultancy growth plans.
This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, based in Warrington, Cheshire. Hybrid working patterns are available.
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience within the nuclear industry, including:
- Decommissioning planning and implementation.
- Integrated waste management strategies and waste characterisation.
- Environmental planning, permitting, and compliance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
- Ability to produce and peer‑review technical guidance and standards.
- Consultancy experience with a track record of delivering strategic projects.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or Science.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or Scientist status.
- Additional certifications in waste management or nuclear safety (advantageous).
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
