The role involves delivering technical activities relating to nuclear waste management and strategy through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience. This is a unique opportunity to influence projects that are critical to energy security and national protection, while advancing your career in a dynamic and growing consultancy environment.

Day‑to‑day, you will:

  • Provide technical direction and resolve complex nuclear waste issues.
  • Compile technical reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to develop capability within the team.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and customers.
  • Drive business awareness and contribute to consultancy growth plans.

This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, based in Warrington, Cheshire. Hybrid working patterns are available.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive experience within the nuclear industry, including:
  • Decommissioning planning and implementation.
  • Integrated waste management strategies and waste characterisation.
  • Environmental planning, permitting, and compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Ability to produce and peer‑review technical guidance and standards.
  • Consultancy experience with a track record of delivering strategic projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or Scientist status.
  • Additional certifications in waste management or nuclear safety (advantageous).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
