As a Lifting Engineer, you will take ownership of the planning and delivery of complex lifting operations within one of the UK’s most significant nuclear construction projects. This is a full‑time role, working 37 hours per week and based at Hinkley Point C.
Day‑to‑day Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed lift plans, procedures and coordination studies for complex operations
- Select appropriate lifting methods, cranes and equipment to meet safety and project requirements
- Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, legislation and site‑specific procedures
- Brief lifting teams and supervisors to ensure full understanding of plans and safe systems of work
- Identify hazards, resolve constraints and support safe, integrated delivery across site activities
Essential Experience:
- Significant experience producing lift plans within major construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of lifting operations, rigging and crane planning
- Deep understanding of health, safety and compliance standards in high‑risk environments
- Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and site stakeholders
- Coordinating activities and prioritising workload within complex project environments
Qualifications:
- CPCS Appointed Person (A61) Blue Card
- NVQ Level 3 in steel erecting or moving loads
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance.
