Role
As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you'll play a key role in delivering procurement excellence across complex engineering and major project environments.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Leading and supporting Procurement Specialists through coaching, mentoring and day-to-day guidance.
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies and sourcing plans that support project objectives.
- Managing end-to-end sourcing, tendering and supplier selection activities in line with company procedures.
- Negotiating contracts and commercial agreements to achieve the best outcomes for projects and the business.
- Collaborating with project management, engineering, planning and commercial teams to deliver successful project outcomes while managing supplier performance.
Essential Experience:
- Significant procurement experience within complex engineering, infrastructure, defence, construction, nuclear or major project environments.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end procurement, strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
- Experience managing subcontracts and understanding contract flow-down requirements.
- Proven ability to draft and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions and lead supplier negotiations.
- Demonstrable experience working with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts, alongside strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or working towards Chartered status.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
