Overview

Lead the Future of Engineering Records in Defence. Cavendish Nuclear, part of Babcock International Group, is seeking a Records Technician at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater, Somerset, with a hybrid working arrangement.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and related support services to install cabling and pipework in the plant.

The role

As a Records Technician, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious nuclear energy projects. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of Hinkley Point C by ensuring the integrity and compliance of lifetime quality records (LTQRs) – essential documentation that supports the safe construction and operation of the plant.

You’ll be joining a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team that has already submitted over 14,000 records since January. With access to experienced professionals and a culture of continuous learning, you’ll gain exposure to electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering disciplines, setting you up for long-term career growth.

Day-to-day, you’ll

  • Compile, review, and submit LTQR deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Manage the distribution and configuration control of both electronic and hard copy records
  • Prepare data reports on document status for the LTQR Manager
  • Assist with the production of LTQR handover packs
  • Support Area LTQR Coordinators to ensure timely and accurate submission of work package records

This is a full-time role based at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater, Somerset, working 37 hours per week. The role offers two days of remote working per week with an initial commitment to five days in the office. You may also be required to attend site to manage physical records as project needs evolve.

Essential Experience

  • Strong IT skills and experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS)
  • Proven experience in EDMS automation and LTQR control
  • Experience working on major projects
  • Exposure to nuclear industry practices (beneficial)

Qualifications

  • CITB and/or MAPS certification may be required
  • Mechanical qualifications or relevant training would be advantageous
  • Discipline-specific qualification (preferred)

Security Clearance
