The role

As a Lead Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a pivotal role on the Sizewell C programme, one of the UK’s largest and most important nuclear infrastructure projects. This is a high‑impact position where your leadership and insight will shape how a complex, multi‑discipline project is planned, coordinated and delivered.

Day‑to‑day Responsibilities

  • Owning and maintaining the integrated project schedule, ensuring alignment across all disciplines and workstreams
  • Leading critical path analysis, schedule risk assessments, scenario planning and mitigation strategies
  • Coordinating and mentoring planning engineers, promoting consistent standards, tools and reporting
  • Producing and presenting high‑quality planning reports and forecasts to senior stakeholders
  • Facilitating planning workshops and collaborative sessions with project teams, partners and suppliers

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience planning large, complex projects or programmes
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments such as nuclear, energy, defence, infrastructure or rail
  • Strong, hands‑on expertise using Primavera P6
  • Experience leading, coordinating or mentoring planning teams
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach to multi‑discipline programme delivery

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (desirable)
  • Recognised project management qualification such as APM, or equivalent demonstrable experience

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
