The Role
As a Bid Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of Cavendish Nuclear’s mission to deliver critical nuclear solutions across clean energy, defence, and decommissioning. You’ll lead high-value, complex bids that directly contribute to national infrastructure and energy security—making a real impact on society and your career. Day-to-day you’ll lead the preparation and submission of winning bids, managing internal teams and external partners.
- Drive opportunities through Cavendish Nuclear’s governance process, from bid/no-bid to preferred bidder status.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the business.
- Ensure bids meet all schedule milestones and budget expectations.
- Provide regular progress updates and resolve issues that may impact bid success.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at one of our key locations—Warrington (Cheshire), Leicester (Leicestershire), or Bristol. The role follows a hybrid working pattern, with 2–3 days per week in the office. Occasional travel to partner and client sites across these locations is expected. You will work 37 hours per week.
Essential Experience Of The Bid Manager
- Proven success managing complex bids valued over £10 million.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Deep understanding of the end-to-end business winning process.
- Experience working under pressure to meet both final and interim milestones.
- Practical knowledge of bid components such as scheduling, supply chain, risk, and commercial models.
Qualifications Of The Bid Manager
This role is experience-led and does not require specific qualifications. However, a background in project or bid management within engineering, defence, or infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
