The role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll provide expert commercial leadership across major projects within our Nuclear Defence Support programme. This is a role where your impact is visible supporting complex, high‑value programmes that protect the UK and shape future nuclear capability.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Providing commercial management and guidance across projects, supporting Quantity Surveyors and project teams
  • Leading contract reviews, subcontract drafting and commercial governance activities
  • Managing tender processes and commercial evaluations for complex equipment and service providers
  • Overseeing post‑contract commercial performance, including change management and subcontractor claims
  • Delivering final account settlements while protecting commercial and contractual interests

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with three days onsite and two days working from home.

Essential Experience:

  • Strong experience in commercial management within engineering, construction or infrastructure environments
  • Proven expertise working with NEC3 contracts
  • Experience supporting large‑scale, complex projects and contract delivery
  • Ability to manage commercial risk and apply sound judgement in challenging environments
  • Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior colleagues

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Quantity Surveying

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
