A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a highly regarded, Bristol-based commercial insurance broker in a hybrid Delegated Authority Account Handler / Underwriter role. This role suits either an experienced cross-class Commercial Underwriter or Account Handler with property experience who’s ready to take the next step in their career in a supportive, progressive environment.
As a key member of the Delegated Authority team, you will be responsible for underwriting a portfolio of residential and commercial property owners, alongside a selection of specialist schemes and some open market commercial business. You’ll be working with high-quality clients and brokers, blending account handling and underwriting responsibilities, contributing both to new business and existing client servicing.
- Handle and underwrite a range of delegated authority schemes, particularly property owners (residential and commercial).
- Quote, place, and renew risks within your underwriting authority.
- Process and maintain accurate policy documentation and records.
- Experience as a Commercial Account Handler or Underwriter (cross-class or property-focused).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Competitive salary in the range of £32,000 - £38,000 (negotiable for exceptional candidates). Hybrid working (3 days in the Bristol office, 2 days from home). A supportive, people-first working environment with a strong emphasis on training and development.
