The Opportunity

A rare opening has arisen following the planned retirement of a long-serving and highly regarded Account Director at one of the market's leading insurance broking groups. The business is seeking an exceptional senior professional to inherit and steward a stable, well-established client portfolio — this is succession, not rescue. Client relationships are warm, the book is secure, and the business is fully committed to a well-managed transition.

The Role

Based in Bristol with hybrid working, you will take full ownership of a diverse UK client portfolio spanning mid-market to large corporate and international risks, with client turnovers ranging from £10m to £500m+.

You will be supported by one of the most dynamic commercial broking teams in the market, with access to specialist resource across the wider group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop an established client portfolio, delivering expert risk advice and outstanding service
  • Lead the renewal process end-to-end, including market negotiations and client presentations
  • Identify organic growth opportunities within the existing book and cross-refer into specialist teams
  • Act as a trusted risk adviser at senior/board level across a broad range of commercial lines
