What we are looking for:
We are looking for a different kind of Corporate Affairs consultant. Someone with previous experience in an agency environment who understands that the world of corporate affairs is changing fast. You are naturally curious. You consume politics because you enjoy it, not because you have to. You read legislation, follow select committees and understand the machinery of government, but you're equally fascinated by the forces shaping society beyond Westminster.
You have opinions about how artificial intelligence will change trust and influence. You understand why societal polarisation matters to brands. You can explain how a culture war issue might affect an organisation's licence to operate just as confidently as you can analyse the implications of a new Bill progressing through Parliament.
You are excited by complexity. You recognise that organisations increasingly operate in contested environments shaped by political fragmentation, technological disruption and changing public expectations. You enjoy helping leaders navigate those challenges.
Most importantly, you are comfortable challenging conventional thinking. You have the confidence and credibility to sit across the table from senior executives and ask difficult questions. You are not afraid to challenge clients when necessary, offer an alternative perspective or provide advice that is grounded in evidence rather than consensus.
You combine political judgement with commercial instinct. You know how to build relationships, but you also understand that the role of a modern adviser is to provide clarity, perspective and direction.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have previous experience in government relations, public affairs or corporate affairs within an agency environment.
- Are deeply interested in politics, policy and current affairs beyond the daily headlines.
- Understand the impact of societal polarisation, attention dynamics and technological change on organisations and brands.
- Are curious about AI and excited by how it can transform the way we work.
- Have an interest in sectors such as technology, health, energy or other areas undergoing significant disruption.
- Can move comfortably between discussions about legislation, regulation, reputation and culture.
- Are confident advising senior stakeholders and challenging constructively when required.
- Enjoy turning complexity into practical recommendations.
- Build trusted relationships quickly and communicate with authority.
- Are ambitious, collaborative and eager to shape the future of corporate affairs.
