We are now looking for a Head of Technical & Engineering to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

The Role

As Head of Technical & Engineering, you will lead the delivery of various projects that support the design and build of our residential developments. Taking overall responsibility for the design process, you will ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of compliance, buildability and cost effectiveness. You will manage consultants, technical partners and stakeholders, liaising with statutory and local authorities to support the successful delivery of developments. You will also lead and develop the Technical & Engineering team, overseeing the delivery of technical information to project teams while driving value engineering and risk mitigation activity across developments.

Additionally, you will:

  • Ensure projects are compliant with legislation, NHBC standards and Building Regulations
  • Manage adoptions and management companies through to completion
  • Maintain the Cavanna standard house type portfolio
  • Report on sustainability strategy implementation and progression
  • Monitor and report on Technical budget movements
  • Track and report on pre-development site progress and key dates
  • Act as Principal Designer stakeholder under the Building Safety Act

About You

To be considered as our Head of Technical & Engineering, you will need:

  • Experience managing teams with diverse skill sets
  • Experience acting as Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods and practical delivery
  • A good understanding of engineering design and implementation
  • An understanding of legal processes relating to adoptions and management agreements
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate others
  • A construction or design-related HNC, HND or Degree
