About the Role:Even a Spaceport marches on its feet!Were looking for a cheerful and enthusiastic person to join our amazing catering team.Youll play a pivotal role in making sure our team, clients and visitors start their day with a cheery welcome and a hearty breakfast.

This is a superb opportunity to be part of the UKs leading, and only operational Spaceport, where you will be part of the team who are making history every day! SaxaVord Spaceport in Shetland, is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Rotational Breakfast Chef.

You will be responsible for assisting in the management of the kitchen, overseeing breakfast preparation, maintaining high culinary standards, and contributing to the growth of the spaceport\’s culinary offerings. This is a unique opportunity to work in an exciting and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen.
  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team, ensuring food preparation and service are executed to the highest standards.
  • Support menu planning and food sourcing, maintaining a focus on quality and sustainability.
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met and upheld.
  • Manage kitchen operations during rotational periods, maintaining consistency and quality in all meals served.
  • Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assist with the maintenance of inventory and control stock levels to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

What Were Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Breakfast Chef or in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
  • This role would suit those who are educated toLevel 5 – Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for quality food, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a rotational, remote location.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Previous experience in remote or specialized locations is a plus.
