An established industrial manufacturing operation is seeking a Maintenance Technician Mechanical Fitter (Multiskilled) to join its site-based engineering team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of mechanical and associated equipment to support continuous production. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, strong fault-finding capability, and a proactive approach to improvement.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs in line with best practice and site procedures.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying and recommending equipment or process enhancements.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and optimisation of new plant and machinery.
- Accurately complete maintenance documentation and records in accordance with company standards.
- Work collaboratively with production teams, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within workshops, plant areas, and engineering stores.
- Remain current with relevant technologies and maintenance techniques through ongoing learning.
- Participate in an on-call rota to support out-of-hours maintenance requirements.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties aligned with the role.

Qualifications / Experience

- Mechanical installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair.
- Welding and basic fabrication.
- Basic electrical fault-finding and component replacement.
- Experience working with rotating and conveying equipment.
Operational Knowledge
- Handling systems such as conveyors, elevators, screws, and diverters.
- Motors, drives, soft starters, and inverter systems.
- Pumps, fluid handling, and pressure systems.
- Gearboxes, bearings, and power transmission equipment.
Personal Attributes
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow procedures and work safely at all times.
- Team-oriented with a flexible and proactive attitude.
