Our client is seeking a proactive SHE Advisor to support the implementation, management and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental systems across our projects and offices, adding real value to the business and supporting safe, compliant and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Support identification and implementation of company SHE requirements.
- Proactively and reactively monitor projects and offices through audits, inspections and performance reviews.
- Provide hands‐on HSE support and guidance to site teams.
- Prepare reports for the management team on SHE performance and trends.
- Liaise with external bodies and represent the business on H&S and environmental matters.
- Support behavioural safety and environmental improvement programmes.
- Conduct internal audits, inspections and investigations of accidents, incidents and near misses.
- Deliver training, develop materials and support workforce development initiatives.
- Support PQQ submissions with SHE and environmental technical input.
- Produce, review and maintain RAMS templates.
- Identify potential risks and elevate to the SHEQ Manager as required.
- Promote best practice and support implementation of improved SHE and environmental systems.
- Maintain continuous professional development in line with agreed plans.
What We're Looking For
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in SHE roles within cabling, civil and/or electrical engineering environments.
- Essential site-based SHE experience within construction or contracting.
Skills
- Confident and assertive when required to challenge unsafe practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with site and management teams.
Qualifications
- Third-level qualification in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or SHE discipline.
- Relevant specialist training (e.g. Temporary Works, Lifting Operations, Persons, etc.) and competency card.
- Membership of a relevant professional institute desirable.
