Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Estimator to join their team, playing a key role in the successful planning and delivery of a diverse range of civil engineering projects, primarily within the energy sector. Your expertise in cost estimation will help ensure projects are accurately scoped, competitively priced, and delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather critical data for pricing and planning.
  • Identify and evaluate all cost elements, including materials, labour, equipment, and time requirements.
  • Prepare and present clear, comprehensive cost estimates and project budgets for internal and client review.
  • Update estimates in response to design changes, site conditions, or revised project scopes.
  • Support the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Monitor industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes to maintain up-to-date estimating practices.

  • Proven experience in a similar civil estimating role, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost analysis techniques.
  • Proficient in estimation and planning software (e.g., Candy, Causeway, CostX, or similar).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with project planning tools is desirable.
