Set Builder ( Expression of Interest )
Cavalry is building a pool of experienced Set Builders for upcoming projects.
We’re looking for practical, hands-on set builders who can help bring simple set elements to life — from kitchen flats and walls through to staircases, platforms and other basic structures.
This is an opportunity for skilled makers who enjoy getting stuck into the build and can work efficiently, economically and to a high standard.
What you’ll be doing
- Building basic set elements and structures to project requirements
- Constructing items such as kitchen flats, walls, staircases and platforms
- Working from drawings, references or straightforward briefs
- Using materials efficiently and working to budget
- Ensuring builds are safe, sturdy and fit for purpose
- Working independently or alongside a small production team
- Adapting quickly to different project requirements and timelines
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in set building, scenic construction, carpentry, theatre, events, film/TV or similar
- Strong practical construction and making skills
- Comfortable working with common tools and materials
- Able to interpret basic plans, drawings and measurements
- Resourceful, reliable and solutions-focused
- A good eye for detail and a focus on quality
- Ability to work to deadlines and within an agreed budget
The opportunity
