Job Title: Site Supervisor (Fire Stopping Background) – Enhanced DBS Required

Location: Liverpool

Freelance Rate: £230 – £250 per day

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor with a strong fire stopping background for a 5-week project on a live hospital site. The role involves overseeing and assisting with fire stopping works to ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications. Candidates must hold an enhanced DBS, have proven experience in fire protection, and ideally possess SSSTS or equivalent certification. Immediate start available.

  • Enhanced DBS (Essential)
  • SSSTS (Essential)
  • NVQ in Passive Fire Protection (or equivalent)
  • Previous Experience in Fire Stopping (Essential)
  • Strong all-round knowledge of passive fire systems

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee fire stopping works to ensure compliance with design specs, regulations
  • Coordinate and manage operatives/subcontractors on-site to ensure productivity and quality standards are met
  • Ensure health & safety compliance, including RAMS, PPE use, and adherence to hospital protocols
  • Conduct daily site briefings, toolbox talks, and update workers on any changes or hazards
  • Liaise with hospital staff, main contractors, and fire protection inspectors to coordinate access and minimise disruption
  • Maintain detailed site records, including daily logs, material usage, progress reports, and photographs
  • Inspect and sign off completed works, ensuring all penetrations are properly sealed and logged
  • Report issues or delays to the project manager and support problem resolution quickly
  • Ensure all fire stopping installations are documented for final QA and certification (FIRAS or equivalent)
