About the Role
Caval Recruitment is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join a leading civil construction project. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated environmental professional to play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered in compliance with environmental legislation, best practice, and sustainability goals. You will work closely with site teams, project managers, and regulatory bodies to manage environmental risks and drive a culture of environmental responsibility across all stages of construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and site-specific environmental controls
- Conduct regular environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments across active construction sites
- Ensure full compliance with relevant environmental legislation, permits, and consents
- Provide environmental advice and guidance to site teams and project managers
- Investigate and report environmental incidents, implementing corrective actions where required
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, local councils, and other stakeholders
- Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation
- Deliver environmental inductions and toolbox talks to site personnel
- Monitor site activities including waste management, dust, noise, water, and ecology
Requirements
- Proven experience in an Environmental Advisor or similar role within civil construction or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and planning conditions
- Experience developing and implementing EMPs and CEMP (Construction Environmental Management Plans)
- Relevant qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field
- IEMA membership or equivalent (desirable)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK driving licence
