Location: North East England
Salary: Β£40,000 - Β£45,000 + circa 10% car allowance

Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and specialist civil engineering projects across the North East of England. The role will involve supporting the delivery of a range of civil engineering projects, including highways, bridges, public realm, local authority infrastructure and rail engineering schemes. Working closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager and wider delivery team, you will provide technical support across setting out, surveying, earthworks, drainage and general civils. The business has a broad portfolio of specialist civil works, including environmental improvements, school and hospital infrastructure, remediation, urban regeneration, bridge construction and strengthening, transport and highway infrastructure, coastal and fluvial defence, industrial buildings and reinforced concrete structures.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure
- Strong setting-out and surveying experience
- Good knowledge of general civils, earthworks and drainage
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Relevant civil engineering qualification or equivalent experienceCSCS and relevant site-based qualifications
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience across highways, structures, rail, public realm or local authority projects would be advantageous

- Setting out and surveying civil engineering works
- Supporting earthworks, drainage and general civils packages
- Checking levels, dimensions and tolerances against drawings and specifications
- Maintaining accurate site records and quality documentation
- Assisting with measurements, quantities and progress reporting
