Construction Contracts Manager in Newcastle upon Tyne

A growing engineering contractor with a long-term commitment to the North East is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to support and lead multiple engineering projects across the region, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business investing heavily in its regional operations.

About the Role

The Contracts Manager will oversee the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of several engineering schemes.

Responsibilities

• Managing multiple contracts across the North East, potentially up to the Torness and Berwick area
• Providing strong technical oversight to ensure engineering quality and compliance
• Leading commercial management activities including forecasting, cost control and contract administration
• Ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, with NEC experience highly desirable
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners
• Supporting tendering and pre-construction activity as the regional workload grows
• Leading project teams and promoting a culture of safety, quality and accountability

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within engineering, utilities, civils or infrastructure
• Chartered Engineer status, or working towards it, with a strong technical understanding of engineering project delivery
• Solid commercial and contractual knowledge, ideally with NEC contract experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects across a wide geographical area
• Confident leadership and communication skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region

Pay range and compensation package

Salary between £60,000 and £80,000 depending on experience
