Commercial Manager in Glasgow

A well-established civil engineering contractor operating across Scotland is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead its commercial function and support continued business growth.

This is a senior role requiring a strong Quantity Surveying background and proven experience delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the commercial function across multiple civil engineering projects
• Take responsibility for cost control, valuations, forecasting, and final accounts
• Manage commercial risk and ensure contractual compliance
• Support project teams with commercial strategy and decision-making
• Lead commercial negotiations with clients and supply chain partners
• Mentor and develop quantity surveying and commercial staff

Candidate Profile:

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Strong QS bias with progression into commercial management
• Significant experience within civil engineering or infrastructure contracting
• Solid knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. NEC)
• Commercially astute, proactive, and confident operating at senior level
