Freelance Senior Planner – Leeds

Project: Various projects across core sectors including education, healthcare, MoD, MoJ and leisure with build values up to £30m

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

Duration: 6 Months

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced freelance Senior Planner to join a leading contractor based from their head office in Leeds to play a crucial role as part of the commercial team, leading and overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects across key sectors—including education, healthcare, MoD, MoJ, and leisure with build values exceeding £30m. In this role, you will develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using advanced Asta or Primavera P6. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure alignment with project objectives, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve successful project delivery.


What We’re Looking For

Experience:

  • A comprehensive background with over five years collaborating with Tier 1 or Tier 2 construction contractors
  • A strong track record in executing projects across multiple sectors such as, education, healthcare, and both MoD and MoJ environments
  • A proven history of working in a similar position on new build / refurbishment projects with build values in excess of £5m


Key Skills:

  • Strong IT skills
  • Capability to conduct successful negotiations
  • Knowledge of Asta or Primavera Planning Software
  • Clear communication abilities combined with a keen eye for detail
  • Capacity to adjust to changes and amend project plans as required
