Role Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join a major civil engineering project in Retford. This is a long-term freelance opportunity, with an initial contract of 18 months and potential for further work. The successful candidate will work as part of the project team on a large-scale construction site, supporting the delivery of works to the required quality standards and specifications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong civil engineering background and previous experience working in a QA/QC role on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience as a QA Engineer within civil engineering
- Strong civil engineering / construction background
- Experience working on large-scale projects
- Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures
- Experience with ITPs, inspections and quality documentation
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Relevant site qualifications and CSCS as applicable
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the implementation of project quality procedures
- Carrying out inspections and quality checks
- Managing and maintaining quality documentation and records
- Working with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Identifying and reporting quality issues and supporting corrective actions
- Liaising with site management, engineers, subcontractors and project teams
- Supporting the overall delivery of quality standards across the project
