Requirements
- A relevant qualification in manufacturing or art and design (desirable but not essential)
- A certificate in metal work finishing processes or degree within arts or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
- Proven experience of operating in a Patination, Finishing & Wiring Technician position or similar
- A meticulous eye for detail
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team efficiently
- Proficient at working systematically and logically
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- A solid understanding of health and safety issues with the ability to enforce them
- Strong time management skills, enabling the successful completion of targets and deadlines
The Role
- Assist with on-site and off-site installations
- Reduce waste and immediately report any shortages
- Complete required technical and safety training courses
- Install and wire chandeliers using efficient electrical techniques
- Improve, refine and enhance metalworking techniques as required
- Perform finishing procedures using tools such as polishing wheels and scratch mops
- Install mirrors, glass components, and chandeliers, ensuring secure and precise fitting
- Adhere to safety protocols during equipment operation, and notify when repairs are required
- Uphold company health and safety policies by keeping the work environment safe and clean
- Finish metal surfaces with lacquer and distressing methods to achieve tailored or aged effects
- Conduct PAT and wire testing, verifying compliance with electrical safety and quality standards
- Create unique colours and textures on steel by applying special effect finishes with spray methods
- Utilise HR and production software (Hibob and Emax) for operational tasks and record maintenance
- Execute various glasswork operations, from chandelier beading and glass fitting to custom dimension cutting
- Use hand tools such as drills, pliers, and hammers for tasks involving metalwork, patination, and glass-related activities
- Contribute to the setup and placement of substantial pieces, involving physical handling of weighty components
- Utilise both hot and cold patina techniques on metalwork, delivering varied finishes, aligning with design specifications
- Foster a happy and efficient production team by encouraging collaboration and a cooperative spirit among teams, departments, and colleagues
