Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the M&E industry, with specific experience in Retail & Commercial fit-outs up to £1m
- Commercial knowledge and ability to negotiate terms with a range of parties
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, construction methods and materials
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools

Role Overview:
As the M&E Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase of their projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing competitive tenders in order to secure mechanical & electrical packages on commercial projects ranging in value from £50k - £1 million.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough and detailed analysis of mechanical and electrical project requirements for Retail & Commercial fit-outs
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, as well as electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, and controls, considering materials, labour, and equipment costs
- Collaborate with the project management and engineering teams to gather essential project information for both mechanical and electrical works
- Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals for submission to clients, incorporating both mechanical and electrical scopes
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing for mechanical and electrical trades
- Ensure bid submissions are timely and comply with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements
- Analyse and compare actual project costs with estimated costs for mechanical and electrical works to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities
- Provide feedback to the project team for continuous improvement in estimating accuracy across mechanical and electrical disciplines
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable partnerships for both trades
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements for electrical and mechanical works
