Role: Site engineer

Start: Immediate

Salary: £50k Plus Car allowance

Job Responsibilities

  • Set out and verify structural and architectural steelwork from approved drawings and models
  • Carry out dimensional checks and tolerance verification on fabricated steelwork, assemblies, bearings, connections and associated components
  • Support fabrication teams with drawing interpretation, buildability queries and technical problem-solving
  • Check fabricated items against approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and quality requirements
  • Support trial assemblies, pre-installation inspections and factory acceptance activities
  • Prepare dimensional inspection records, survey information, check sheets and as-built documentation
  • Identify and report clashes, non-conformances, dimensional errors and tolerance issues at an early stage
  • Attend sites nationwide to complete surveys, setting out, installation verification and final checking activities

Experience

  • Experience within structural steelwork, architectural steelwork or similar construction/fabrication environments.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering, fabrication and setting-out drawings.
  • Experience in dimensional checking, survey control and tolerance verification.
  • Competent using surveying equipment including total stations, laser equipment and levels.
  • Good understanding of steelwork fabrication, assembly and installation processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues before they become costly site problems.
  • Good communication, technical reporting and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across both factory and live site environments.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away when required.
  • HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction or similar discipline desirable.
  • CSCS essential; SSSTS/SMSTS desirable.
