Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to take responsibility for the civil construction package on a large-scale Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project near Exeter. You will oversee the delivery of all civil works, working closely with the wider project management team, principal contractor, subcontractors, engineers and site teams to ensure the works are delivered safely, to specification, on programme and within budget.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience managing civil works on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
- Experience within solar farm / renewable energy projects highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, access roads, foundations and site infrastructure
- Experience managing civil subcontractors and site teams
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of construction programmes, quality and HSEQ
- Good commercial and contract management awareness
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete civil works package for the Solar PV and BESS project
- Oversee earthworks, ground preparation, roads, drainage, foundations and associated infrastructure
- Manage civil subcontractors, suppliers and site resources
- Coordinate civil works with electrical, mechanical and wider construction activities
- Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements
- Manage inspections, testing, snagging and completion of civil works
- Monitor costs, variations and subcontractor performance
- Coordinate with engineers, consultants and the wider project team
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ, CDM and site requirements
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to project management
