CAV Systems Ltd is a global aerospace supplier specializing in airborne ice protection systems and drag reduction technology for civilian, commercial, and military aircraft. The company provides design, consulting, certification, and manufacturing of aviation ice protection systems that are internationally certified for Flight Into Known Icing (FIKI) conditions.
We are now recruiting for a new role of Maintenance Operative to join the Maintenance team. The Maintenance Operative role at CAV Systems Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Consett, County Durham. The primary purpose of the role is to support the Maintenance Technician in carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure machinery, buildings, facilities and equipment are kept in safe, functional and efficient working order.
The Maintenance Operative’s responsibilities will include:
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs on machines, buildings and equipment
- Conducting regular inspections to identify and address mechanical and maintenance issues
- Carrying out basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating tasks
- Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to
- Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Liaising with contractors and suppliers
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:
- A time served mechanical background
- Knowledge of multiple trades (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating), including the ability to work with various materials including wood and metal
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Ability to work with limited supervision and manage own workload
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook
