Overview
In this role you will provide financial oversight across R&D, Product and IT to drive investment decisions and governance. You’ll connect engineering costs to delivery outcomes and deliver product-level profitability insights to leadership. You’ll quantify ROI on AI initiatives and track technology spend to support a large-scale digital transformation. This position sits at the intersection of finance and product, enabling smarter investment choices and performance visibility.

Responsibilities
- Track R&D delivery against roadmap and investment case
- Develop investment case templates for new R&D and infrastructure expenditure
- Conduct post-investment reviews comparing outcomes to approved cases
- Build and maintain product-level P&Ls including revenue, cost and contribution analysis
- Provide visibility into product unit economics to Product and R&D leadership
- Quantify ROI on AI initiatives and develop business cases for AI investments
- Maintain hosting spend and capacity analysis; update infrastructure cost models
- Monitor cost performance against forecasts and establish governance for R&D investment approval
- Build reporting routines and dashboards to give leadership timely spend and performance insights
Key requirements
- 4+ years in FP&A, R&D finance, technology finance, product finance or business partnering in SaaS/tech
- Demonstrated experience partnering with technical or product stakeholders
- Advanced financial modelling including P&L development, cost allocation and scenario analysis
- Ability to work with engineering, product and infrastructure data and challenge technical assumptions
- Knowledge of AI and technology economics and ability to translate into investment frameworks
