Pay Range: Salary of £30,000 – £36,000 per annum, depending on experience

Benefits:

About the Role: As a Biological Applications Scientist, you will play a key role in advancing the development and real‑world application of our novel sensor platform. Working within our world‑class laboratory, you will:

  • Design, refine, and validate assays, preparing biological reagents
  • Ensure smooth day‑to‑day lab operations and maintain laboratory standards
  • Lead comparative studies against alternative biosensor technologies
  • Analyse complex datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable reports

Alongside your lab‑based work, you will:

  • Collaborate widely across the organisation and beyond
  • Present results to colleagues
  • Manage projects with external validation partners
  • Represent us at conferences and exhibitions to showcase our capability and potential

About You: To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • Experience working in a research laboratory (industrial or academic)
  • At least 12 months’ experience running biological assays via ELISA or other label‑free technologies OR 12 months’ experience developing novel biochemical coupling layers
  • Experience writing, reviewing, and following Standard Operating Procedures
  • High competency in numeracy, IT, and presentation skills
  • The ability to work in a team
  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a closely relevant subject
