We are one of Warrington's innovative practices, working withing Central & West Warrington Primary Care Network, we look after approximately 9500 patients across two sites.

Do you want to work in an encouraging GP Practice, where we support staff with their personal wellbeing as well as in their role withint he practice.

Were not a 9-5 service and successful candidates must be able to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 6.30pm (shifts within those hours) with the possibility of some Mondays working until 8pm

Main duties of the job

The main role is to support the practice by signposting patients to appropriate services, this may be via telephone, face to face or via our digital platforms.This will mean booking appts, if appropriate for the relevant service. Also, liaising with patients, via phone, email, text message for a variety of reasons. Completion of any tasks that come from the teams within the practice.

About us

We are a 2 partner GP Practice and have 3 additional salaried doctors working with us across 2 sites in Warrington. We work within Central and West Warrington Primary Care Network (PCN) - this is working with 6 other local practices to support our patients and develop additional / different ways of working to support our population.

We have approximately 9,500 patients from varied backgrounds.

We all support each other and wellbeing is a priority for the practice to ensure our staff our supported within the workplace with training, where required. We have an "open door / open" policy.

We have varied clinical staff, either employed directly by ourselves or employed by our PCN who support our patients, ie Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant, Physiotherapists, Dietician, Clinical Pharmacists, Health and Wellbeing Coach, Nurse Associate, Pharmacy Technicians, Care Co-ordinators and GP Assistants. This gives a very varied group of staff that we can signpost patients to to ensure they get to speak/ see the right person at the right time.

We have a team of 9 administrative staff supporting the practice across various roles.

Job responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of communication with patients, clinicians and reception team.
  • Managing all general enquiries, making new and follow up appointments, signposting to appropriate services.
  • Ensuring all practice protocols and policies are understood and adhered to.
  • Responsible for entering requests for home visits, communication from community nursing or any messages for the duty doctor accurately and efficiently.
  • Responsible for receiving and despatching of prescription requests, signposting deliveries or telephone enquiries to the correct department.
  • Responsible for ensuring the reception area and waiting room is appropriate for receiving patients and general public.
  • Responsible for filing of reports and correspondence electronically
  • Responsible for opening up the premises at the start of day, de-activating the alarm and make all necessary preparations to receive patients.
  • Responsible at the end of day for ensuring the building is secure and re-activating alarm.
  • Responsible for attending regular monthly staff meetings, in-house training and external training.
  • Responsible for providing flexible cover for colleagues for holiday and sick leave.
  • Managing requests for processing repeat prescriptions in line with practice policy
  • Responsible for checking prescriptions accurately against written request for repeat prescriptions within timeframes.
  • To recognise patient medication reviews.
  • Complete online consultations requests or emails as per the work schedule.

Experience

  • Experience of working in a GP Practice / Primary Care

Qualifications

  • GCSE in Maths
