The Programme Specialist will work alongside the BoardLead team to provide outstanding customer service and programmatic support.

Cause Strategy Partners is a U.S. based company that seeks a wildly talented, deeply passionate and incredibly fun mission-driven professional to join our team in London. The Programme Specialist will work closely with BoardLead Programme Managers and Programme Associates to support professionals from Fortune 500 companies, philanthropic foundations and charities to drive high-impact charity board placement, training and support.

In this role, the Programme Specialist will support cohort building for BoardLead London and Hong Kong, support data collection, and conduct research on charities and charity conveners to support potential future partnerships. After 16 weeks in this role, programme leadership will determine whether there is ongoing need for support. The Programme Specialist will support external relationship building and management and will provide regular thoughtful feedback on systems and processes to improve our work in London and Hong Kong.

The Programme Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Providing critical support to Cause Strategy Partners' Boardlead London programme, including:
  • Supporting charity outreach, applications, and selection, including:
  • Conducting outreach calls to inform organisations of the BoardLead opportunity
  • Communicating via email with organisations to answer questions and encourage participation
  • Managing and updating data collected during outreach to charities
  • Reviewing charity applications and assessing fit for BoardLead
  • Conducting interviews with charity Board Chairs and CEOs to learn more about charity needs and alignment with BoardLead
  • Participating in charity selection days by sharing insights gained through application review and interviews
  • Supporting preparations for future round launches of BoardLead London, including:
    • Identifying charities that would be a strong fit for BoardLead in new and existing markets
    • Conducting research on charity membership and convening organisations.
    • Supporting logistics including processing charity nomination lists from partners, and providing updates to BoardLead managers on application rates, charity selection, and candidate elections
  • Supporting programmatic data management and organisation needs
  • Collaborating with the BoardLead and Cause Strategy Partners team in our commitment to continuous learning and optimization as we strengthen the tools, systems, and processes used to execute all programmes by:
    • Sharing and documenting feedback on all phases of programme preparation and execution
    • Supporting ongoing internal and external engagements in partnership with the Cause Strategy Partners team
  • Performing other duties as necessary and assigned
  • DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    The Programme Specialist selected to fill this position will report into a BoardLead Senior Programme Associate. The individual selected to fill this important position will be expected to perform their work in accord with the values of Cause Strategy Partners. They must be adept at a number of core competencies, including:

    • Strong verbal and written communicator: The Programme Specialist should be an effective, clear, and professional communicator, with an ability to make quick connections, leave positive impressions, and build positive relationships with a variety of external stakeholders, especially a charity audience.
    • Detail & deadline oriented: Ability to manage workflow effectively, to track and keep tight deadlines.
    • Possess technological and design prowess: The candidate must be skilled in building and using effective programme management and team management tools. Ideally, the candidate should be experienced with Google Suite, including Google Sheets.
    • Highly efficient & organised self-starter: The Programme Specialist will be expected to take responsibility for tasks and work both independently and collaboratively across the programmes team. They will demonstrate the ability to manage workflow independently, effectively, and with excellence.
    • Possess social sector experience: Charity governance is our passion; a familiarity with and understanding of the social good sector, either related to corporate social responsibility or charities, is strongly preferred.
    • Creative & open team player: The Programme Specialist will embody a sense of positivity and openness, embracing creativity and the sharing of ideas within teams.

    Please note the following expectations for this role:

    • Part-time contract opportunity, with up to a 29-hour per week expectation
    • Work will be performed virtually. The Programme Specialist will be responsible for using their own computer, phone and other necessary technology. Google Voice services can be provided.
    • Commit to a 16-week engagement period from February through May with the potential opportunity for extension beyond that period
    • The individual selected for this opportunity must be UK-based with authorization to work in the US or UK

    COMPENSATION

    The Programme Specialist will be compensated £17.50- £18.50 per hour, commensurate with experience.
