Backed by top‑tier investors including ICONIQ, Index Ventures, Pentech, and Marathon, we are scaling rapidly and expanding our product suite and market presence.

The Role

We are looking for a Finance Director to join Causaly as our most senior finance leader, reporting directly into the COO. You will own the full finance function across our offices in the UK, Greece, and the USA — from financial planning and analysis through to statutory reporting, controls, and treasury — and will be a key strategic partner to the leadership team as we grow ARR and prepare for the next stage of the company. You will manage the Head of Financial Control, who handles day‑to‑day accounting operations. FP&A is the heart of this role. You will build and maintain the operating model, lead annual planning and quarterly forecasting, and translate financial data into clear commercial insight. This is a hands‑on position: you will be in the detail, not just managing it.

Key Responsibilities

  • FP&A & Strategic Finance
    • Own the three‑statement financial model and long‑range plan
    • Lead annual budgeting and rolling quarterly forecasts
    • Build scenario models to support fundraising, pricing, and headcount decisions
    • Produce monthly board‑ready reporting packs with variance analysis and actionable commentary
    • Partner with the COO and commercial team on SaaS metrics: ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, burn
    • Lead financial due diligence and investor data room management for future fundraises
  • Finance Operations
    • Oversee management accounts, month‑end close, and statutory reporting (UK GAAP / IFRS)
    • Own cash management, treasury, and banking relationships
    • Own accounts payable/receivable and finance tooling
    • Oversee finance operations across UK, Greece, and US entities, including inter‑company accounting and multi‑currency reporting
    • Ensure compliance with VAT, corporation tax, R&D tax credits, and regulatory filings across all jurisdictions
    • Own external accountants, auditors, and legal advisers
    • Financial administration over all of Causaly’s share option schemes
  • Commercial Partnership
    • Act as a trusted finance partner to Sales, Customer Success, and People teams
    • Build pricing and margin analysis to support deal structuring and expansion
    • Review and approve customer contracts from a financial and risk perspective
    • Support procurement and vendor negotiations
  • People & Team Leadership
    • Manage and develop the Head of Financial Control, setting clear priorities and quality standards
    • Act as a senior finance escalation point and decision‑maker across the function
    • Build a high‑performing, scalable finance team as the company grows
  • Controls & Governance
    • Design and embed financial controls, policies, and approval frameworks
    • Drive the implementation and improvement of finance systems (ERP, FP&A tooling)
    • Ensure the company is audit‑ready at all times
    • Support the board with financial governance

Essential (About You)

  • Experience managing finance across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions
  • Experience managing or mentoring a direct report in a finance function
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Significant FP&A experience, ideally at a B2B SaaS or tech company
  • Demonstrable ability to own both strategic modelling and hands‑on accounting
  • Strong command of SaaS metrics and unit economics
  • Experienced in building and presenting board reporting
  • UK finance and tax compliance knowledge
  • Exceptional attention to detail paired with an ability to see the strategic picture
  • Clear, direct communicator — comfortable advising leadership and non‑finance stakeholders

Desirable

  • Experience in a high‑growth scale‑up or VC/PE‑backed company
  • Exposure to fundraising processes and investor relations
  • Prior experience building or leading a small finance team
  • Experience implementing or improving finance systems

Benefits (UK)

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Private medical insurance
  • Private dental insurance
  • Life insurance (4 x salary)
  • Personal development budget
  • Individual wellbeing budget
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Birthday off
  • Potential to have real impact and accelerated career growth as a member of an international team building a transformative AI product
