An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Caunton Engineering Quality Assurance Team. The QA inspector will be responsible for performing random checks of structural steel members and parts, which will also include checks after surface protection. Practical skills are essential and you must be able to demonstrate a methodical and careful approach. Interpretation of drawings, mathematics and measurement are key requirements of the role. QA site visits will be required for this role to sub-contractors and may incur an overnight stay on occasions.

The Inspector shall ensure that company procedures are followed and be conversant with National Structural Steelwork specification (NSSS) and 1090-2.

Qualifications Needed:

  • A good knowledge of all aspects of fabrication, painting inspection and welding, i.e. truss/handrail/pipe work.
  • Ability to work to client specifications at all times.
