Caulmert Ltd is a fresh and dynamic multi-disciplinary consultancy, delivering engineering, environmental and town planning services throughout the UK to an impressive client base including many blue-chip organisations. Founded in 2008, Caulmert is on track to meet an ambitious growth plan. Currently, the company employs people operating from regional offices located in Nottingham, Sheffield, Kent, Cheshire and North Wales (Bangor and St Asaph), with our client-focused teams consistently delivering high-quality services and support to the rapidly growing number of clients.
As a proactive Principal Environmental Permitting Consultant, you will be required to work within the Environment Team on a variety of environmental permitting-related projects primarily in waste management, waste recycling, mineral extraction and energy. Making a significant contribution to the day-to-day delivery of professional services and delivery of technical design information, whilst enjoying the flexibility of hybrid working your responsibilities will include:
- Project management and production of permit applications
- Managing junior members of the team
- Reviewing of technical documents
- Interpreting data and report writing
- Communicating with clients and external parties (e.g. Environment Agency) to progress projects
- Managing legislative issues for Clients and maintaining an awareness of how legislation impacts projects
- Provide guidance and support to other in-house disciplines
- Promoting the company's services and being alert to new opportunities
To be considered for this role you will have the following experience, skills, knowledge and attributes:
- Ambition, commitment and integrity
- Relevant degree in environmental sciences, or a related environmental discipline
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience
- Working towards chartered status with a relevant body
- Thorough understanding of UK environmental legislation and the Environmental Permitting regime in England and Wales
- Proven skills in undertaking and managing environmental permit applications
- Well-organised and able to prioritise workload with minimal supervision
- Client-focused approach with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and manage junior staff assisting them in meeting their training and development objectives
- Numerate with competent and efficient report-writing skills
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of own work
