The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.

You will report to the Procurement & Supply Chain Director to drive the activities of a team of Buyer/s, ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services to meet business requirements. Ensuring adherence and implementation to procurement processes and the departmental strategy. Manage specific budgets covering indirect commodities, which will include a savings target to support Caudwell Marine.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategy reducing cost via negotiations with suppliers for all spend, conducting competitive bids, leverage opportunities.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to implement productivity improvement and sourcing project initiatives to reduce single source and sole suppliers.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to optimize requisition to payment processes, qualify alternative suppliers and manage supply risks.
  • Support business operations by escalating and resolving supply and service issues with Suppliers.
  • Develop and manage the Contract Management Process and the business relationships for all key suppliers.
  • Develop, manage and lead specific procurement key performance indicators, including but not limited to cost reduction, weighted average vendor pay terms and supplier performance and supplier management.
  • Lead non-commercial events as required to meet objectives, including, but not limited to Kaizen workshops and Working Capital/Inventory Workshops, Supplier Summits.
  • Lead and manage procurement projects, forming cross functional teams to ensure success.
  • Work proactively with Buyers to implement key strategic initiatives in all areas of spend.
  • Lead, mentor, manage and develop the Procurement Team.
  • Oversee the entire Procurement process, ensuring best practices to fulfil auditing and compliance requirements related to Procurement processes.
  • Promote benefits of early Procurement Involvement in sourcing activities.
  • Lead and execute Procurement Strategy ensuring all targets are on track for responsible team presenting to senior leadership of progress.

Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Minimum of +8 years’ experience working at a senior level in indirect Procurement.
  • Demonstrated experience of driving change in fast moving environment.
  • Strategic thinker operating with full integrity at all times.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a customer/market focused approach and results orientated, 'can do' attitude.
  • Process driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Commercial acumen to assess and analyse supplier potential.
  • Effective communicator at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Must have excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in manufacturing or related industry.
  • Ability to prioritise and work independently and with autonomy, but willing to take direction from multiple sources.
  • Self-starter who is flexible and adaptable to changing schedules.
  • Team player, comfortable with supporting, and accepting support from, colleagues.
  • High energy and determination to drive the best business results with enthusiasm and pace.

  • Some travel will be necessary, particularly to the USA and Europe.

Location: Coventry

Working Hours & Hybrid Policy: The standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We offer a hybrid working arrangement, requiring three days in the office, including a mandatory in-office day on Wednesdays, and two days working from home. Flexibility may be required based on business needs.
