Itinerant teacher (ISS), Art Coordinator and Support Staff personnel with Student Programs.

  • Performance Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain current/cohesive vision for Student Programs for BOCES and/or component districts.
  • Supervise and evaluate Itinerant teachers and support staff within Student Programs.
  • Maintain evaluation records in BOCES approved database.
  • In collaboration with BOCES and/or district leadership; coordinate extra-curricular programs like Odyssey of the Mind, Scholastic Challenge, e Sports, VEX, and Lego League and other needs identified by district leadership.
  • Prepare for, set up, operate and evaluate academic summer school programs for middle school and high school.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate driver education programs for those districts who participate during the summer and the school year.
  • Coordinate career exploration experiences for districts who request the service, including events such as an annual 'College and Career Readiness Fair, career exploration trips, and/or other events to match the needs of the districts.'
  • Coordinate with Human Resources for recruiting, interviewing, and recommending candidates for open positions.
  • Responsible for fiscal management of a variety of COSER services and balancing organizational structure with available resources.
  • Plan and recommend departmental budget to Assistant Superintendent, considering such factors as revenue, expenses, future needs, and grant opportunities.
  • Assist Assistant Superintendent, in collaboration with other Program Managers, with implementing divisional and organizational goals.
  • Serve as representative to the NYS Arts in Education Network and The WNY Arts Partnership.
  • Remain current with information for all special area teacher certifications, State and National curriculum requirements and trends.
  • Obtain general understanding of collective bargaining agreements and enforce provisions of those agreements.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Support Services.
  • Evaluation

Annually by the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Support Services.

  • Job Qualifications
  • Certification as School Building Leader (SBL), School District Leader (SDL), School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS), or School District Administrator (SDA); NYS Administrator Certification.
  • Five (5) years' teaching and teacher training experience desired.
  • Knowledge of and experience supervising classroom teachers, the Arts, Enrichment, and the ability to work well with professional and support staff of component school districts.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Salary/Compensation: $85,000 per year
