So we're looking for a brilliant Midweight Designer to raise our creative bar as we go.
THE ROLE
As a Midweight Designer, you’ll work across campaigns, films, digital content and brand work, taking briefs from initial concept through to final delivery. You’ll work closely with the Creative Director, strategists, copywriters and project managers to bring ideas to life, ensuring all work is visually engaging, strategically sound and aligned with client objectives. We’re looking for someone with a passion for visual storytelling in all its forms. Someone who can approach the work with strategic rigour, hold their own in creative discussion and come out of it with design that’s sharp, considered and beautifully crafted.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development: Interpret and challenge client briefs. Develop strong concepts across campaigns, content and brand work. Translate creative ideas into compelling, well‑crafted design for a variety of audiences. Work across a range of formats, including social, digital, print, film and photography. Bring a clear understanding of layout, typography, colour and visual storytelling to all work. Work closely with the Creative Director, writers, strategists and project managers to develop and refine ideas. Contribute to creative discussions, share inspiration and help shape the direction of projects. Respond positively to feedback and iterate work effectively. Support the creation of pitch decks and presentations.
- Delivery & Execution: Take ownership of design work from concept through to final delivery. Produce high-quality assets that meet both creative and technical standards. Work efficiently to deadlines while maintaining high standards of craft. Work with and interpret brand guidelines across a range of clients. Build strong, consistent visual identities across projects. Present work clearly and confidently to clients.
IDEAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years’ experience within a creative agency or design studio.
- Strong understanding of how to apply and evolve visual identities.
- A diverse portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and high-quality design across a range of media.
- Excellent understanding of typography, layout, colour and visual hierarchy.
- High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Knowledge of Premiere and After Effects would be a bonus.
- Confident in rationalising and presenting creative ideas.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
WHO YOU ARE
- A passionate believer in the power of creativity and storytelling to make a positive impact.
- A strong visual thinker with a sharp eye for detail.
- Creative, curious and ambitious.
- Proactive in finding visual inspiration; always a go‑to for brilliant references, industry topics, exhibitions and events.
- Collaborative, open and comfortable working as part of a team.
- Always looking for opportunities for further self‑development, learning new techniques, craft and software.
WHY WORK AT CATSNAKE?
- Enjoy a hybrid work environment, offering the flexibility to balance office and remote working.
- Be part of a passionate team working on meaningful, creative projects for leading charities.
- Play a central role in shaping the future of an ambitious, values-driven agency entering an exciting new stage of growth, including expansion into the US.
