At CatSci, our science is powered by our people. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a proactive and approachable People Partner to join our People & Culture team. This is a hands-on, high-impact role - ideal for someone who enjoys balancing HR advisory work with day-to-day administration, thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a central role in shaping a positive employee experience.

As our People Partner, you'll be the first point of contact for people-related queries across the business. You'll work closely with team members and line managers, providing practical, solutions-focused advice across the full employee lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a trusted first point of contact for HR queries and guidance
- Advising managers on absence management, performance concerns and employee relations matters
- Supporting managers with investigations, informal and formal processes and documentation
- Guiding and coaching managers to build confidence and capability in people management
- Supporting team members with queries relating to policies, wellbeing and workplace concerns
- Managing HR administration including contracts, offer letters, onboarding documentation and employee records
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth candidate and new starter experience
- Maintaining accurate HR systems and reporting
- Assisting with policy updates and ensuring compliance with employment legislation
- Contributing to People & Culture projects and continuous improvement initiatives

We're particularly interested in people with:
- Experience in an HR Advisor, HR Officer or similar generalist role
- Experience advising on absence management, performance and employee relations matters
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships at all levels
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confidence handling HR administration accurately and efficiently
- A proactive mindset and a collaborative approach
CIPD qualification (or working towards it) would be advantageous but is not essential. If you don't meet every requirement but believe you could make a strong contribution, we encourage you to apply.
