Do you have a background in summer schools, boarding schools or universities, with expertise in administration, management and welfare? Join one of our fantastic summer centres as a Welfare and Office Manager and take the opportunity to enhance your management skills in a varied and exciting role over the summer holidays.

At Stafford House Study Holidays, we welcome over 6,000 students (ages 8-17) from overseas during the summer to help them improve their English. Students stay for up to 2 weeks, taking part in a rich academic, activities and excursions programme.

Our students stay in our school residences, supported by our dedicated Student Welfare team. Much like House Parents, our Student Welfare Officers support students' pastoral and well-being needs, ensuring every student feels safe, comfortable, and supported.

Our Welfare and Office Manager is responsible for all aspects of management for our Student Welfare team. You will work closely with our Welfare and Management team, coordinating arrivals and departures, producing weekly rotas for our Student Welfare team and deputising for the Centre Director.

Contracts

The contract is approximately from mid June to mid/end August 2026. Working 60 hours per week over 6 days. This is a fully immersive management role. We provide you with full-board accommodation during your contract.

Locations

This role is available at 2 locations - Canterbury, Kent and Brunel University, London. These are 2 of our largest centres.

  • Loyalty Payments (if applicable) - £20 - 43 per week paid at the end of your contract
  • Incentive: Employees may receive a £500 discount on CELTA training course provided by Stafford House, post qualifying contract. (T&Cs apply contact us for more information)

Some of what it takes to be as the Welfare and Office Manager

  • Confidence, with a good understanding how to work professionally.
  • Management: You manage the office, admin and welfare rotas for the team of Student Welfare Officers.
  • Safeguarding is a big part of the job, and we take it seriously. If successful we will conduct full pre-employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check, in line with our safer recruitment policy and Keeping Children Safe in Education. You will act as Designated Safeguarding Leader and managing all Health & Safety aspects of the programme.
  • Administration: You’ll oversee and delegate administrative tasks, provide admin training, communicating within the centre and ensuring that essential data including student welfare logs, and attendance registers are maintained.
  • Work collaboratively: You will liaise with group leaders, the welfare team and management team.
  • Being Supportive: You’ll support your Student Welfare Team. Additionally, providing pastoral support to ensure their holistic well-being and welfare.
  • Be a great Communicator with a good level of spoken and written English.
  • Energetic: Working 60 hours per week over a 6-day week. This is a fully immersive working experience.
  • You must already have the right to work in the UK on a full-time basis - 60 hours per week.
  • You must be available to attend our Management Training Weekend in June 2026.
