Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare summer course offerings outside of the regular academic programs. Organize timetables/schedules for holiday course offerings, including weekday excursions where appropriate.
Hire and staff summer program utilizing internal staff or recruiting externally to fill vacant positions. To liaise with Study Holidays Recruitment department for support in recruiting and training summer welfare and activities staff as required by the programs.
Communicate regularly with tutors running the courses, helping them to source appropriate materials, resources and approaches according to the course type and learners. To ensure the delivery of outstanding teaching through planning and preparation of age-appropriate classes, which enthuses and inspires students to reach their potential and promote enjoyment of learning
Supervise students’ attendance and behavior and follow up as appropriate, in accordance with the requirements of summer camp protocols. Organize the supervision of students on excursions/trips during the weekdays, as appropriate, ensuring their safety and welfare at all times.
Monitor and assess, and provide relevant and timely feedback on achievement, progress and developmental needs to students, academic and other managers/colleagues, including student records.
Liaise with house parents to ensure students are accommodated as booked, and that all paperwork and administration for student check in and departures is completed.
Plan/participate in small exhibitions at the end of camps (as appropriate) to display student work completed.
Support and encourage students’ progression into college programs.
Appropriately deal with student issues/emergencies as and when they arise.
Attend all meetings when required, and attend/deliver INSET sessions as directed.
Ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and students when they are working within the School by consistent implementation of Health & Safety guidelines and risk assessments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and/or background in education or summer programs preferred.
Experience in an education-related field, lesson planning, and/or programming.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
First aid and CPR certified preferred.
Capable of multitasking and managing multiple stakeholders while prioritizing safety.
Able to lead and work with a team, proactive and friendly.
Able to address problems quickly and efficiently.
Experience in managing groups of students preferred.
Ability and willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment along with being
internationally aware and culturally sensitive.
