Are you qualified to teach EFL and are free between June to August 2026? Why not gain or expand your classroom teaching experience in our central London school, as part of Stafford House Study Holidays. Experienced and newly qualified teachers are welcome.

Whether you hold a relevant EFL qualification, a PGCE, or an equivalent qualification in English, Primary Education, or Modern Foreign Languages, we have a range of opportunities from 15-30 hours per week. You are also welcome to take part in activities and excursions, paid at an additional rate.

  • DELTA/Training Incentives: You are welcome to attend a free CPD EFL teaching course ahead of starting work. Qualifying teachers may apply for a free DELTA 1 Module post summer. A range of online CPD sessions are also available.
  • Experience: This is the ideal opportunity to gain or further your CELTA or PGCE teaching experience, supported by a highly experienced academic leadership team.
  • Weekly CPD sessions are offered, along with observations and appraisals.
  • We have an experienced academic management team who return to our centres year-on-year, along with a dedicated Academic & Training Manager and Academic Advisor available throughout the summer.
  • Career opportunities: There is potential for opportunities beyond our summer schools, in our year-round schools in Cambridge, Canterbury, and London.

Hours: 15 - 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Pay: £23.01 per contact hour plus holiday entitlement; £24.46 per contact hour plus holiday entitlement for those with 2+ years post-qualification experience; £14.85 per contact hour plus holiday entitlement if you choose to take part in our activities and excursions programme.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Teachers should have a first degree or equivalent and must be EFL/TESOL qualified (e.g. CELTA, CertTESOL or another TEFL certificate which meets Accreditation UK criteria). PGCEs in English, Modern Foreign Languages or Primary are also welcomed.
  • DELTA / DipTESOL or equivalent MA qualification desirable.
  • Educated to Degree level (preferred).
  • Experience of teaching using Interactive Whiteboards and Digital Teaching Platform is preferred.
  • Experience of teaching Exam Preparation for Trinity GESE is desirable.
  • Experience of working with young learners.
  • Be collaborative, have a passion for teaching and EFL.
  • Have a working knowledge of safeguarding practices.
  • You must already have the right to work in the UK. We are unable to sponsor you.
  • All teaching qualifications must include a minimum of 6 hours observed teaching practice as part of their course, evidenced in your qualification transcript. We are unable to accept certificates without this, in line with Accreditation UK standards.
