Welcome to Stafford House Study Holidays (part of CATS Global Schools). Are you looking for work that’s fun and exciting over the 2026 summer holidays? Something different from the norm? Join our team! It’s a great way to earn money, gain transferable employment skills, build experience, make new friends and have a lot of fun.
At Stafford House Study Holidays we welcome over 6,000 international students aged 8‑17 each summer, helping them improve their English while enjoying a fun, unforgettable experience. Students join us for up to 2 weeks at one of our fantastic summer centres, where they take part in a rich programme of English lessons, activities and excursions.
Locations: Bournemouth, Canterbury, Cambridge, Central London, Uxbridge, Northampton, Oakham (famous for the Michael Owen Red Stars football school) – New for 2026: York.
Contract Details: Choose a contract of 4‑6 weeks between late‑June and mid‑August. You must be available for at least 3 consecutive weeks in July, our busiest period.
Accommodation: We can often support you with full‑board accommodation if you’d like to try a residential contract in a new location for the summer. Student Welfare Officers/Student Welfare Officers (Transfers) must be residential as part of their role.
Pay and Incentives: Pay varies by role and hours. Pay is supplemented with holiday entitlement and loyalty increments where applicable. Incentives include discounted CELTA courses for qualifying staff in 2026 (terms and conditions apply).
Roles Available:
- Activity Leaders: We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic professionals to support students on a wide range of activities and excursions such as sports, drama, arts, quizzes, discos, fashion shows and more. You will also lead groups to theme parks, city tours, historical sites etc. All necessary materials are provided. Qualities: Responsible, active, energetic with strong communication skills. No specific subject required, but experience working with young people is highly desirable. Full‑board accommodation available with a small weekly salary deduction (£77.70 per week). May not be available in Central London and Canterbury. Full‑time, 48 hours per week. Pay: £610.08 per week plus holiday entitlement.
- Student Welfare Officers / Student Welfare Officers (Transfers): Our welfare team supports students with pastoral and well‑being needs, acting like a house parent. Duties include lights‑out and mealtime supervision, and for the transfers role, welcoming students at London airports and train stations. Qualities: Responsible, caring, great communicator. No specific subject required, but experience with young people is desirable. Administrative skills essential; well organised. Full‑time, 48 hours per week. Residential required; full‑board accommodation provided without deduction. Must attend a training day on 24 June 2026. Pay: £610.08 per week plus holiday entitlement.
- EFL Teachers: We welcome experienced and newly qualified teachers. Class sizes are around 15 students. All teaching materials are provided and you’ll receive support from an established teaching and management team with CPD, observations and appraisals. Qualifications: CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, or equivalent/higher, PGCE in Primary, English, or Modern Foreign Languages, or TEFL with at least 6‑hours observed teaching practice. Optional residential in centres (except London). Residential contracts are 42 hours per week including teaching, activities, and excursions. Non‑residential contracts can be 16, 32 or 42 hours per week. Pay: In 2025 rates ranged from £250.08–£615.00 per week plus holiday entitlement. Rates will be reviewed in January 2026. Incentives: Eligible for free DELTA module 1 course and CPD courses.
- Management & Senior Roles: We offer a range of management positions in Activities, Welfare and Aca for people with previous summer school or teacher management experience. These are full‑time, residential roles working 55‑60 hours per week, depending on the role. Senior roles pay between £671.55–£919.54 per week plus holiday entitlement (reviewed in January 2026). Requirements include previous summer school or teacher management experience.
Important Information: You must already have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship not available. Activity Leaders, Student Welfare Officers/Transfers and Management are full‑time roles only. Teaching roles can be part‑time or full‑time (16‑42 hours per week). Safeguarding is a priority; all successful candidates must complete pre‑employment checks. No specific experience required for non‑teacher roles, but good safeguarding practice is expected.
