We are looking for someone that can support the school in transporting students on a designated route to and from school in our 9 seater minibus. The role will also support the site team during the remaining working hours and out of term time to maintain high standards, providing skilled support in general maintenance, repairs, health and safety compliance, and site security to ensure the school environment is welcoming and conducive to teaching and learning. The role includes driving minibuses as required by mutual arrangement, liaising with parents regarding absence, delays or changes to routes, and ensuring safety and service quality for pupils, staff, guests, and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Drive minibuses as required, collecting students from home addresses or pick-up points and delivering to school sites.
  • Liaise with parents regarding absence, delays or changes to the expected route.
  • Manage behaviour on the bus to ensure pupils adhere to safety expectations.
  • Carry out pre-journey checks on the vehicle driven and report any concerns.
  • Complete and record student registers, mileage and timings.
  • Check the vehicle for lost property at the end of each journey and keep the vehicle clean and tidy.
  • Undertake training and continued CPD for D1 and CPC requirements.
  • Ensure the safety of pupils and employees at all times.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, courtesy and promptness to students, staff, guests and the public.
  • Carry out a wide range of general repairs and maintenance tasks across the school (carpentry, plumbing, painting, decorating, furniture assembly, etc.).
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance schedules to reduce breakdowns and ensure longevity of school facilities.
  • Report and escalate larger-scale repairs or specialist works as required.
  • Respond to and update the ticket system for responsive repairs.
  • Work in a rota where you will be on call once every 4 weeks.
