Bosworth Independent School is a relatively small school of approximately 300 students, offering a supportive family atmosphere where students and staff can thrive. House Parents at Bosworth School have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our young people. You will be a supervising adult presence in the Boarding House, committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of our boarding students and assisting them in their daily lives. The role is central to the positive social and personal development of our students, involving organising and running activities to help students forge valuable friendships.
We are looking to appoint a number of Bank House Parents to our boarding team on a zero-hour basis, covering shifts as required, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts. Please note, sleep ins may be required for the better performance of your duties.
Main Responsibilities:
- Wake every student in the morning for breakfast and morning welfare check, and inspect student bedrooms, filling in appropriate paperwork.
- Monitor the students’ welfare and behaviour and report any problems to the Head of Boarding.
- Supervise students’ Prep hour when required.
- Report student illness promptly to the School Nurse in the mornings. If emergency attention is required, call the emergency number or an Ambulance.
- Ensure the smooth running of the boarding house in accordance with the Staff Handbook to maintain a friendly, welcoming environment.
- Help the domestic team with maintaining general cleanliness and tidiness in the boarding house at weekends.
- Ensure a visible presence in and around the premises of the boarding house at all times when on duty.

Person Specification:
- Ability to work with, care for and supervise young people.
- High levels of energy, an even temper, and a sense of humour.
- Confidence in spoken and written English.
- Confidence to take a lead on minor disciplinary matters within the boarding houses.
- Ability to relate to young people.
- Willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Willingness to work unsociable hours.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work as a team member and lead by example.
- Ability to be proactive, flexible, and reliable.
