Experienced and newly qualified teachers are welcome. Whether you hold a relevant EFL qualification, a PGCE, or an equivalent qualification in English, Primary Education, or Modern Foreign Languages, we have opportunities for you.
We are a British Council accredited, leading provider of summer school study holidays. We welcome over 6,000 young learners from around the world each summer, between mid-June to mid-August. Our mission is to help students improve their English while having a fun and unforgettable holiday. During their 7-14 day stay, our students experience engaging classroom lessons and a lively program of activities and excursions.
Our class sizes are small: 15 students on average, and students vary in age from 8-17, depending on the centre and course booked. Ready-made lesson materials are provided to align with our syllabus, along with comprehensive teacher notes available to reduce planning times.
DELTA/Training Incentives: You are welcome to attend a free CPD EFL teaching course ahead of starting work. In addition, qualifying teachers may apply for a free DELTA 1 Module post summer. There are also a range of online CPD sessions available to you.
Experience: This is the ideal opportunity to gain or further your CELTA or PGCE teaching experience as you will be welcomed and supported by a highly experienced academic leadership team. This is especially attractive for NQTs/ECTs, as we offer weekly CPD sessions, observations, and appraisals.
Career opportunities: There is the potential for opportunities reaching beyond our summer schools, in our year-round schools in Cambridge, Canterbury, and London.
Contract options explained:
- Locations: Uxbridge (West London), Oakham, Northampton, Cambridge, Canterbury, Bournemouth, and York.
- Contract lengths: Choose contracts from 3-8 weeks long, between 20th June to mid-late August 2026.
Pay and hours for Non-Residential Teachers:
- 16 hours per week over 5 days - £260.33 per week / £265.33 for 1+ year’s experience / £275.33 for 3+ years’ experience + holiday entitlement.
- 32 hours per week over 5 days - £520.67 per week / £525.67 for 1+ year’s experience / £535.67 for 3+ years’ experience + holiday entitlement.
- 42 hours per week over 6 days - £624.60 per week / £629.60 for 1+ year’s experience / £639.60 for 3+ years’ experience + holiday entitlement.
Qualifications and Experience: Teachers should have a first degree or equivalent and must be EFL/TESOL qualified (e.g. CELTA, CertTESOL or another TEFL certificate which meets Accreditation UK criteria). PGCEs in English, Modern Foreign Languages or Primary are also welcomed. DELTA/DipTESOL or equivalent MA qualification desirable. Educated to Degree level (preferred). Experience of teaching using Interactive Whiteboards and Digital Teaching Platform is preferred. Experience of teaching Exam Preparation for Trinity GESE is desirable. Experience of working with young learners is essential.
You must already have the right to work in the UK. All teaching qualifications must include a minimum of 6-hours observed teaching practice as part of their course.
