Do you have experience managing the seamless running of events or activities? Do you have great leadership qualities? If so, our Student Activities Manager position could provide you with the diverse challenge you’ve been looking for. We are an English Language school hosted by our state-of-the-art CATS Academy Boston high school located in Braintree, MA. Our Study Holidays welcome groups of young students (aged 10-18) from overseas. During their stay, they’re immersed in learning with a fun and dynamic academic and activity program, as we believe that the best learning isn’t just in the classroom. That’s where you come in.

As our Student Activities Manager, you will work closely with your team and other managers, having responsibility for the fun and varied student activities schedule. The dates of employment for this role are mid-June to early August 2026.

What does an Activities Manager do?

  • You will be tasked with the planning and delivery of our activities and events, based around Boston and New England.
  • Builds excellent working relationships with the management and broader team to provide our students with the safest and most enjoyable experience.
  • Plays an active role in the pastoral care of students, including night duties on a rotational basis.
  • Plays an active role in the induction, ongoing support, and training of Activity Leaders and Teachers.
  • Manages, motivates, and briefs the activity team and oversees their designated tasks, reporting to the Director of Studies.
  • Budgets for events and activities.
  • Answers student emergency phones during off-hours if necessary. This duty is rotated amongst the management team.
  • Works 6 days per week – as part of the management team, this is a fully immersive position.

Some of what you’ll need to join Stafford House Study Holidays as a Student Activities Manager:

  • Previous experience in running an activity/leisure program or similar is essential (preferably in a summer/school setting) and would be advantageous.
  • Great communication skills with a strong level of spoken and written English.
  • Flexible schedule; sometimes working evenings or weekends.
  • The ability to perform residential duties.
  • Supportive leadership - able to effectively manage your team, ensuring the happiness, safety, and well-being of staff and students alike.
  • The legal ability to work in the United States.
  • Familiarity with the Boston/New England area would be beneficial.
  • You must be professional and friendly - Safeguarding is a big part of the job, and we take it very seriously.

Salary Description: $1,100.40/week
