Welcome to Stafford House Study Holidays (part of CATS Global Schools). Are you looking for work that's fun and exciting over the 2026 summer holidays? Something a little different to the norm? If so, come and join our Stafford House Study Holidays team! Not only is it a great way to earn money, but you'll also gain transferable employment skills and valuable experience that may help you advance in your chosen career. You'll make new friends, and let's not forget, it's a lot of fun too!

At Stafford House Study Holidays, we welcome more than 6,000 international students aged 8-17 each summer, helping them improve their English while enjoying a fun, unforgettable experience. Students join us for up to 2 weeks at one of our fantastic summer centres, where they take part in a rich programme of English lessons, activities and excursions.

Where are our locations? Bournemouth, Canterbury, Cambridge, Central London, Uxbridge, Northampton, Oakham (famous for the Michael Owen Red Stars football school). New for 2026 - York!

What contracts do we offer? You can choose your contract of 4-6 weeks between late-June to mid-August. Please note you must be available within at least 3 consecutive weeks in July, as this is our busiest period.

Is accommodation included? We can often support you with full-board accommodation if you'd like to try a residential contract in a new location for the summer. Student Welfare Officers/Student Welfare Officers (Transfers) must be residential as part of their role.

What roles do we offer?

  • Activity Leaders: We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic professionals to work as Activity Leaders. You will be supporting our students on a wide range of activities and excursions such as sports, drama, arts, quizzes, discos, fashion shows, and more. You will also lead groups to theme parks, city tours, historical sites, etc. You must be responsible, active, and energetic with great communication skills. You don't require a particular subject of study but experience of working in a similar capacity with young people is highly desirable. Pay: £610.08 per week plus holiday entitlement + loyalty increments if applicable.
  • Student Welfare Officers/Student Welfare Officers (Transfers): Our Student Welfare team supports our students with all pastoral and well-being needs, rather like a house parent. They are also involved in lights-out duties, mealtime supervision etc. In addition, Student Welfare Officers (Transfers) attend London airports and train stations to welcome our students and support them onto their chosen centre. You must be responsible, caring, and a great communicator. For the transfer role, you must also be confident to travel to airports and international rail stations. This role involves administration, so you must be well organised, and possess a variety of effective admin skills. You must have the capacity to promote the welfare of young people. Pay: £610.08 per week plus holiday entitlement + loyalty increments if applicable (increased for senior positions).
  • Senior Roles: We also hire Senior Activities and Welfare staff who are paid at an increased rate. You must have worked in a summer school previously to be considered for a senior role.
  • EFL Teachers: We welcome experienced and newly qualified teachers. We have small class sizes (around 15 students) and all teaching materials are provided for you. You'll be supported by an established teaching and management team with CPD, observations and appraisals. You must be qualified to teach with a CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent/higher or PGCE in Primary, English, or Modern Foreign Languages. TEFL qualifications must have included a minimum of 6-hours observed teaching practice to be accepted, in line with British Council standards. Pay: In 2025, rates varied from £250.08 - £615.00 per week plus holiday entitlement. Rates of pay depend on hours, whether you choose to be residential/non-residential, seniority, level of experience, qualifications etc. Rates will be reviewed in January 2026.
  • Management & Senior Roles: We also have a range of management positions available in Activities, Welfare and Academic for people with previous summer school or teacher management experience. These are full-time, residential roles working of 55-60 hours per week, depending on role. Pay: In 2025, rates varied from £671.55 - £919.54 per week plus holiday entitlement - this will be reviewed in January 2026.

Important Information: You must already have the right to work in the UK. We cannot sponsor you. Activity Leaders, Student Welfare Officers/Transfers and Management are all full-time roles and we cannot offer part-time. Teaching roles can be part-time or full-time (16-42 hours per week). We take safeguarding very seriously and all successful candidates must complete our pre-employment checks before starting work. Further training will be provided.
