Typically these components are small, turned / mill-turned brass components (however some parts are milled and other materials are used, such as hardened steel). The Role

Machinist, permanent, full-time

Location – Chalgrove, Oxfordshire

This pivotal role is based full-time onsite Monday to Friday.

Main purpose of the job

We are looking to recruit a machinist into our engineering team to work in our prototyping workshop, producing machined components in a variety of materials. Parts will range from 1 off jigs and fixtures for our assembly line to producing 100s of components for R&D / first off production.

Who you are responsible to:

Your immediate line manager is the Engineering Manager, but ultimately you are answerable to all the Company Directors.

Main tasks of the job:

  1. You will play a key role in the development process working closely with design engineers to provide a manufacturable solution, which you will then be responsible for producing, including:
  1. sourcing of material/tooling
  2. CNC programming
  3. machine setting and operating, or
  4. manually machining where appropriate.
  • Follow all Health and safety instructions, given both verbally, and set out within the company health and safety policy. Always seek instruction on using unfamiliar machines, and use all appropriate PPE.
  • You are responsible for your own safety, and the health and safety of others around you. If you need extra training, you must make your line manager aware, and never conduct work in an unsafe manner.
